Clio is a city in Barbour County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,399 at the 2010 census, down from 2,206 in 2000. It is the birthplace of former Alabama governor George C. Wallace, as well as Baseball Hall of Famer and former Atlanta Braves broadcaster Don Sutton. Clio is located at 31°4236N 85°3624W (31.709922, -85.606708).According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.1 square miles (26.1 km²) of which 0.008 sq miles (0.02 km²), or 0.09%, is water. The average household size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.37. The median income for a household in the town was $21,806, and the median family income was $33,438. About 28.3% of families and 28.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 33.1% of those under age 18 and 19.1 per cent of those age 65 or over. The racial makeup of the town is 36.5% Black or African American, 32.0 per cent White, 0.4% Native American, 0.5 per cent Asian, and 30.2 per cent from other races. 36.0 percent of the residents are Hispanic or Latino of any race. The city is home to the Blue Springs State Park and the Easterling Correctional Facility.

Clio has a population of 1,788. The city is located on the Missouri River, which runs through the center of the city. It is located at 31.4236 N 85.3624 W, and has an elevation of 31.726 N 85°3524 W. It has a water area of 0.02 square miles, or 0.09% of its total area, which is less than 0.1% of the town's area. The town's population is 1,856, and the city's area is 0.08% water. It was founded in the 18th century by the Clio family, who moved to the area in the 19th century. The area was once known as Clio, a name for a small town in the area. It became a city in the early 20th century, when it became known as the town of Clio. The name Clio was first used in the 17th century as a reference to the city of the same name, and is still used to refer to the town today. It also means "clio" or "clo" in Spanish.
